Etruscan is proud to announce the publication of Incident Light by H.L. Hix. Incident Light is Hix’s seventh book with Etruscan, including Chromatic, a National Book Award Finalist.In a “starred” review, Publishers Weekly writes, “Incident Light is a fine addition to this protean poet's fast-growing (and critically lauded) body of work.” Entertainment Weekly calls Incident Light “exceptionally alert and vivid.”
Youngstown State University Senior Art major Michael Ress conceived and executed the cover and interior design of the book, working as an intern with Etruscan and the YSU Poetry Center. This is Ress’s second book design with Etruscan. Of his first book design, Dr. Philip Brady , Etruscan’s Executive Director and Director of the Poetry Center, said, “Michael’s design is one of the most beautiful and elegant we’ve had in nine years working with many professional designers.” Incident Light represents a fine addition to Michael Ress’s achievement.
Ress’s internship was funded by the Wean Foundation and the NEOMFA. Having graduated, he has contracted to do two more Etruscan books next year.
Founded in 2001, Etruscan Press is an independent literary non-profit, sponsored by YSU and the NEOMFA in partnership with Wilkes University.
